In Jan. 2008 we discovered vintage Valentine's Day cards in a large collection (about 1800!) posted by Flickr.com member riptheskull. We selected about 30 postcards and published them on Jan 14, 2008. This exhibit was republished with minor edits in Jan. 2009 and Jan. 2010. The word
"affinity," meaning "natural attraction" (as though
by family), is believed to have been in use from 1616
