Paintings by U Lun Gywe

U Lun Gywe, born in 1930 in Yangon, is one of the most well-known and well-respected artists in Burma today, and is considered the greatest living master of Burmese paintings.  With his characteristic style of impressionism he is a master of color and emotion.  He graduated from the Art Institute of Teacher's Training and continued his studies under famous artists such as U Thet Win, U Chit Maung, U San Win, U Thein Han and U Ngwe Gaing.  

He exhibits regularly in Rangoon and has participated in several art exhibitions abroad, such as in Australia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and United States (New York).  His works are found in the National Museum in Burma, the National Art Gallery of Malaysia, and Singapore Art Museum.
