Magdi Sobhy was graduated from the Institute of Leonardo Da Vinci in 1976, and has held various exhibitions in Egypt and Europe.  His study of ancient Egyptian art as well as Islamic and Ancient Greek arts enables Mr. Sobhy to produce paintings that bring both ancient and modern aspects together, the former observed in the classical outlines of persons and the latter identified in the backgrounds of the paintings.

His works show the use of a wide range of raw materials including carpets, copper, leather, tree leaves named the elephant, and gold paper.
