Argentina
Raquel Partnoy is a painter, essayist, and poet. Born in Argentina, she has lived in Washington, D.C. since 1994. Her work has been shown at 65 solo exhibits and more than 100 group shows in her country and the United States. Partnoy has offered mural workshops at the Latin American Youth Center in Washington, D.C.
She has lectured at the invitation
of universities and institutions about: Argentina's Social Art, Mural Art in
Argentina, Women and Tango, Women Artists Discrimination, and her personal
experiences during the military dictatorship.
Partnoy has received several grants from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and the
National Endowment for the Humanities, and her work has been recognized by
well-known art critics in Argentina and the United States. Her work is
found in museums and public and private collections in both countries.
