Vietnamese artist Kim Roberti

Kim Roberti creates 6x6, 5x7, and larger oil paintings on Gessobord™.  On Mar 1, 2007, she embarked on a personal commitment of painting one piece every day for a year.  365 days later, she had painted 555 pieces, rarely missing a day, a personal triumph of self-discipline and fulfillment.  From March 2007 to July 23, 2007, she painted 1111 pieces!

Since Jan. 2007, her paintings have been posted on her art blog as they are completed.  Her paintings usually start at $49.95 and are sold on eBay, many at higher auction prices.  Some are exhibited and sold elsewhere.

In Sep 2008, Roberti's painting entitled "Madam X" (not in this exhibit) was chosen for the front cover of Dick Blick's 2008-2009 studio catalog.  This event is a significant professional recognition of Roberti's stature and artistic skills.

" I was born and raised in the Southern region of Vietnam.  I immigrated to the United States in 1966 at the age of 16.  Since that time, I have lived in many of these United States and in many countries of the world.  All this time I have had a love of art and longed to paint.  In 1999, I gave up my career and started the long path towards becoming an artist.

" In the last seven years I have enjoyed early success with numerous awards in juried shows and have a small following of collectors.  I have studied under many artists, most notably David Leffel and Sherri McGraw, whom I have the privilege of spending the last five summers within their home studio in Taos, New Mexico.  Today, I teach a small class in my studio and gallery in Cottonwood Shores, Texas."

" Every now and then an artist comes along that just blows me away.  Kim Roberti is just such an artist.  Her small oil paintings of bohemian characters have a somewhat nostalgic quality and yet at the same time are thoroughly modern in style and appearance.  Kim is a very skilled artist and the painterly quality in my opinion is quite exceptional.  The brush work strong, the compositions intimate and slightly whimsical.

" . . .[Kim is] an outstanding new artist.  Very affordable and yet high quality original artwork.  Her paintings have been selling well on eBay and in recent auctions have brought prices from the high $200's to over $700.  I sincerely believe those prices will only continue to go higher as more and more collectors and dealers discover her work.
