"[Via's] affinity for the medium of collage asserted itself while she was immersed in the serious play and free-form experimentation associated with the production of Short Fuse, a Xerox magazine published in Santa Barbara, California.  In those days, she frequently contributed under the name Legerdemain Germane, or sometimes Legerdemoon Germane.  It was during this time, in the mid-1980's, that she was fortuitously introduced to the work of Jess (Collins), San Francisco's premiere paste-up artist, whose art and correspondence has been her greatest source of guidance and inspiration.  (He also serves a lovely lunch.)

"Later, she began making appearances in Magical Blend Magazine, as artist and  writer, under her given name of Vic(toria) Keller (shortening her first name in order to obfuscate her gender, which inexplicably amused her).   In 1994, she was tapped by Tim Leary's editor to contribute to Tim's Chaos and CyberCulture, which led to several significant art shows and a European tour T-shirt for the band Nevermore.

"This brush with the legitimate art world would inspire her to avoid it at all costs thereafter, and she receded into rural valley life, volunteering her artistic proclivities for community events and classes, and doing local shows.  Amid this relative serenity, she learned her way around the computer by playing mindless games, took up singing in public without offending hardly anyone, and changed her name again.  She finds the (apparently) random, multi-dimensional quality of collaging to be an apt metaphor for the trajectory of her own life, and continues to explore the implications of permutability, as evidenced by her successive name changes..."
