With his professional art career starting in 1970 as a portrait painter, paintings and prints by Gary George have been collected for four decades.  During his 40-year art career, he has had three successive sellout one-man shows at New York's International Art Expo and dozens of one-man shows and special exhibitions around the world.  George began his formal studies in 1969 at the University of Memphis and continued them in New York and London.  After a period of travels through Europe and the United States he settled in Florida in 1976.

His travels gave him a variety of subjects to paint. In addition to his interest in nude paintings, as exhibited below and on his website, views of the ocean, Mediterranean villages, and vistas are also subjects for his paint brush.

As a portrait painter his commissioned portraits include Pope John Paul II, President Ronald Reagan, King Hassan II of Morocco, and Armand Hammer of Occidental Petroleum.  He still accepts a limited number of portrait commissions each year.

George's website http://www.garygeorge.com/ exhibits some of his oil paintings and shows prints that are for sale.  Prints include limited edition lithographs and serigraphs and most recently giclee reproductions of his paintings.  Inquiries for commissioned portraits and other artwork are welcome.  Some of his serigraphs are sold on eBay.
