Kenney Mencher describes himself as "a painterly Peter Sellers" whose works are like the film "Being There" (1979)--Mencher likes to watch people.  His objective is to paint a figurative composition divorced from its context that forces viewers to create their own interpretation.  Collaged from posed photographs and pop-culture, his paintings are edgy, enigmatic visual translations of familiar humor, puns, and proverbs, sometimes outrageous or surreal.

With an MFA in painting from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, he is an Associate Professor of Art and Art History at Ohlone College, Fremont, California.  He lectures extensively, has received many awards, and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationwide.  His works have been featured in three syndicated newspapers, three local papers, and featured on the cover of the Laredo Philharmonic playbill, Lullaby Hearse Magazine, and the Oregon Literary Review.
