Garry's comments: "Catscape started life as a render of a model from the human animation program Poser. This program tends to produce very flat, unrealistic human forms, but it is extremely useful for animation. I spent an evening processing the face, trying to work out how to add more realism by altering the play of light and colour. The make-up was added first with subtle airbrushing and the final image came together with a series of around 10 faces all processed in different ways and merged together. I actually don't think I could do it again, it was a very organic process of just going with a creative flow but the result was something I was very happy with.
"The image of the face was later used within a composite over a series of photographs, nothing more than a test to see how well the computer graphic would stand up against real photography. I still prefer the original face against black but keep it just like it is as a reminder of how over-working art can be a bad thing <g>."

Garry's comments: "Good old Poser was used along with Paintshop pro to create this image. The half-rendered half wireframe effect can be done very easily in Poser...Several filters were applied to bring the image together. Often when compositing, the area of a palette within each element you are compositing or bringing together can make the joining of images difficult to get right. I tend to process the whole composition when all elements are in place and bring at least some of the palette together which really helps separate images sit together nicely."

Garry's comments: "This is a still from a still-as-yet unfinished (and probably shelved) animation. Poser is the focus of this picture; the boy is a standard high detail Poser boy.
"I tend to have very simple ideas which do not embrace much artistically. I often find I'm doodling with software, maybe exploring a theme or texture, and this picture is the result of one of those doodles which I took further...".

Garry's comments: "This image is a simple composite of photographs and Poser figures. In all it took about 10 minutes to create and is nothing more than a test in trying to fit computer graphics with photographs, exploring how the character of a photograph can be changed to fit with computer graphics and vice versa."
