Edem Jimbo is an art major at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, United States. He describes himself [Oct 14, 2006] and his work:

"My name is Edem Jimbo, a native of Kisumu, Kenya. 25 years ago I was welcomed to this world in Kisumu and not too many years after that did my love for art at age 10 emerge. Since then I have been honing my skills in as many genres as I can. Experimentation is the best teacher and only through questioning and experimentation can one truly learn the essence of anything. I have expanded my use of media to oils, acrylics, collage, digital, and much more.

"My belief in art is to let it be as honest as possible and genuine. That is when my best work emerges. Of late I have been doing a lot of commissions for families, mostly portraits, sometimes people ask for more specific work which I am always glad to do. I have one more year left in college and I cannot wait to be part of the art world as a profession and see how far what I have been diligently working on will take me, I can only go as far as I take myself and in my eyes there are no limits, now it is a matter of putting that into practice."
