Jean Flournoy was born in southern California, but spent the better part of her life growing up in the Mariana and Micronesia islands.  From age 15 to 32, she was in the Far East studying different Asian and eastern Indian beliefs and philosophies.

Jean is a self-taught artist, using mainly oils, but is exploring and studying watercolor, acrylics, and digital art.  As a child, she drew ballerinas, strange beings, and animals on an irregular basis.  She began to express her spirituality in art when she discovered the works of artist Andrew Gonzalez.
