The website called The Eye Within (address at bottom of page) exhibits the works of many Indian artists. From those artworks, we selected one image by four artists to include in the Images of Eyes Gallery. We believe that our selection of original images by Indian artists, as well as the other paintings at the artists' website, will fascinate and inspire with their individual creativity.

A resident of Calcutta, Anjan
Banerjee was born on October 5, 1968. Anjan's award-winning works have
been exhibited since 1984 in many locations in India, and in New York and Japan,
and are held in numerous private collections.

Sukumar Bhattacharjee's works have been exhibited in many solo and group shows, with an award from the Bombay Art Society for "Best Indian Painting" in 1995. With diplomas in Fine Arts and Craft and Commercial Art, her works have been exhibited in many solo and group shows. She also made two Hindi Tele Films--one for children and the other on illiteracy. Her studio is in West Bengal, India.

Subrata Gangopadhyay--born in 1959 in Calcutta--was graduated from Government College of Art & Crafts in 1980 with a first-class Diploma in Paintings (Life-Nature and Murals). He has had eight solo exhibitions since 1991, and participated in many other exhibitions, including one in Tokyo in 1998. Private collectors abroad include Germany, Nepal, Japan, United Kingdom, and United States.

Born on June 4, 1950, in Calcutta, Sheila is a self-taught artist, except for a year in an art college. Her works have appeared in more than 30 exhibitions in India, and are held in private collections.
