Search Engine Links List
Some of the best search engine links on the internet

This page was top ranked by Google on June 29, 2009 for users searching for
'unknown search engines,' 'unusual search engines,' and 'novel search engines'
Page updated June 29, 2009

Some of the fine art exhibited here was found by using search engines or other search resources.  The list below includes some of the more-interesting, little known, perhaps unknown, search resources that we have run across.  Many of them are unusual, off-beat, of international origin, or specific to a particular country, category, topic, or subject.  Some are imaginative or entertaining in their presentation.  Some are genuinely useful, well-designed, and user-friendly.

An oil painting by artist
Francoise Nielly of FranceSome of the entries in this list are not "search engines" in the usual sense, and are not specifically related to art work or  paintings, but have been included anyhow because they provide a way to find and use information that might otherwise escape your attention--they involve searching for something, or are related to search engine optimization.  As any searcher knows, all search resources are not created equal, and we have made no attempt here to rank them or to compare any marketing hype with the actual online experience, but you may find an occasional personal judgment or jab.

An alpha list was impractical. So we made the list more or less alpha--sometimes more, sometimes less.  From time to time, we add, revise, or delete entries, and revalidate the entire list.
