Nguyen Dinh Dang is a self-taught artist and painter from Vietnam.  Dang was born in Hanoi in 1958.  He received his Ph.D. in 1985, and his degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Sciences in 1990.  His works have been shown in Russia, Vietnam, and Japan, and are found in private collections in Austria, England, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, and United States.

At his website, Dang writes "It is always difficult for me to give a short answer on why I became both a physicist and a painter.  Hence I will give...a long answer."  To fully appreciate and understand the man and his paintings, you should read Dang's "long answer" entitled "Choosing to be an artist" (link opens in a new window).
