Vera Botova studied physics and mathematics at the University of Kazachstan.  She received her doctorate in physics in 1982.  

As a child Vera Botova painted her fantasies on paper.  One of her young dreams was to become an artist.  The dream did follow the hard reality of establishing herself as a physicist.  During her daily work as a physicist she always found a way to put her fantasies onto canvas; she also attended a school for painting.  Since 1994 she has lived with her family in Germany.  

Her works have been exhibited numerous times in Europe.
